Mayor O’Reilly visited O.L. Smith on March 17, as a guest reader and he read THREE books to our students….THANKS YOU MAYOR!! His choice of books were superb! The first book that he read was titled “MOSTLY GHOSTLY-8 SPOOKY TALES TO CHILL YOUR BONES”, by Steve (adapted by) illustrated by John Bradley; Richard Middleton, Arthur Conan Doyle, Barry Pain, Ambrose Bierce, Edith Nesbit, F. Marion Crawford, M.R. James. Washington Irving Zorn. The second book was titled, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”, by Dr. Seuss. And…the third book was titled, “The Giving Tree”, by Shel Silverstein. He paused after each reading to ask important and fun comprehension questions and related the stories to real life experiences…wonderful! Thank you for coming to our school, we appreciate you Mayor O’Reilly and we want a repeat for next year!! 🙂
