- Vikings are you frustrated with reports that portray a distorted and negative image of our city. Well students from Dearborn, Edsel Ford, Fordson, and Divine Child High School initiated #TheRealDeaborn Peace March celebrating Dearborn’s historic diversity, rich culture, and united community. Students & Community members are invited to gather on January 18, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, at the corner of Greenfield Road and Michigan Avenue in Dearborn to take part in a peaceful three-quarter of a mile march beginning at noon. - Current 8th graders interested in applying to the DCMST fall 2016 program should attend an informational parent meeting Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the Berry Center. Check out Smith Middle School’s blog for details and updates. Deadline to apply is February 8. All application materials are online and can be found on the DCMST blog.
- Students interested in applying to the Henry Ford Early College should attend an informational session on Tuesday January 21 at 2:15pm. The Program administrator will be there to explain the program and answer your questions. Applications are available in the counseling office and the deadline to apply is March 15.
- Vikings, are you are reader? If so The Dearborn Public Library is having a Big Read Kickoff Saturday February 6 from 2-4pm with refreshments, work by Edgar Allen Poe, Crafts for all and lots of fun. Information is in the counseling office.
- Messages from the Smith Leadership Class – Students, are you creative, artistic, and love to perform service projects around your school? The Smith Leadership class is looking for a few more students to join the class. You must be a team player. See Ms. Elder for details
- National Junior Honor Society Members. You have a meeting Monday, January 11 at 3pm in room 70. Remember to wear your NJHS Pin and bring your service hours log. Way to go Service leaders!!
- Students, can you read, write, and speak another language or are you proficient in a subject area and want to test out of a class to get high school credit. The deadline for submitting your name in is January 14. See Dr. Elder for questions!
