We have planned many special events for “March is Reading Month” that promote literacy, college readiness and career awareness.
On March 7, we had Dr. Chochol, Executive Director of Student Achievement from Dearborn Public Schools, come and read and interact with our students. This is not Dr. Chochol’s first visit to our school…she was amazing!!
We also had Dearborn assistant fire chief, Steve Densmore, visit our school on March 9. He spoke to our students about the importance of education, about fire safety, about careers at the fire department, job description and entertained many questions from our curious middle schoolers!! He was a great presenter!!
On March 11, we had Senator Morris W. Hood III visit O.L. Smith. Senator Hood has strong ties to Dearborn. He worked on the assembly line at the Dearborn Engine Plant, and served as an alternate committeeman, helping to make sure that his fellow workers’ rights were protected. He did a wonderful job, thank you Senator Hood!!
