1) Attention 8th grade students: A representative from the Early College will be here Friday,
December 15 at 9:40am in the auditorium to meet with students wishing to learn about the
programs. You can sign-up outside the counseling office to be excused if your class is not
participating. See Dr. Elder for more information.

2) The district has chosen O.L. Smith students to receive an ASD Awareness presentation
on the following Fridays in December: December 1st – 7th grade, December 8th – 8th grade
and December 15th – 6th grade. The presenter will come to your math class for the
presentation.

3) Wednesday, November 29th – Girls Swimming @ home – 3:30

4) Tuesday, November 28th – Boys Basketball @ Lowrey
Thursday, November 30th – Boys Basketball @ Stout

5) The Smith wear order form is available for staff & students who are interested in purchasing
a shirt, hoodie or other items. Students may get an order form from their A2 teacher or from
the main office. Please return your order form and money in a sealed envelope
to your A2 teacher or to the main office by Wednesday, Nov. 29th to support the PTSA.

6) O.L. Smith STAND is sponsoring a Holiday Drive to collect toiletries for the
Detroit Rescue Mission. To donate, please see the list of requested items posted in
Mrs. Rivait’s room and place them in her drop basket. For additional information, please see
Mrs. Rivait.

7) The Student Council & STAND students would like your help in creating the “Sock It To ‘Em”
holiday “sock” tree. New and very gently used pairs of socks of all sizes, for boys and girls,
men and woman, can be dropped in the basket in the counseling office by Mrs. Rivait’s
Desk. For additional information please see Mrs. Rivait.

8) Applications/information for the Dearborn Heights Ski & Snowboard Club is available in the
Main Office for students interested in participating in any or all of the ski/snowboard trips
at a reduced rate.

9) The Peer Mediation Program is now available for all students to work out conflicts peacefully.
Pick up a Peer Medication Request Form in the Main Office or see Mrs. Rivait in the Counseling
Department for additional information.
