1) Play practice is cancelled for tomorrow, Thursday, April 26th and will resume next week.
2) The next PTSA meeting will be Tuesday, May 8th @ 7pm in the Media Center.
3) Students: Backpacks and sling packs are not to be worn in the halls or taken to
classrooms. All backpacks and sling packs must be kept in your locker.
4) Teachers help students topple obstacles and give students the tools to achieve their
Dreams. Michigan State Senator, Morris W. Hood III, would like to invite students,
parents, and staff to participate in a “Thank a Teacher” initiative to recognize and
acknowledge the top-notch educators we have here at O.L.Smith. Simply go to www.teachersformichigan.com to submit a “Thank You” card telling Senator Hood who your favorite teacher is and why she/he is the best. Senator Hood will highlight your nominated teachers on his Facebook page,https://www.facebook.com/MorrisHood/ each week.
5) April is Autism Awareness Month. To commemorate this month, the parents of our Special
Education ASD students are invited to come in on Thursday, April 26th beginning at 1:30PM in
the cafeteria to make crafts with the students. All Autism classrooms will attend this event.
6) A Feeder School Concert at Edsel Ford H.S. will be held on May 7th at 6:30pm. The concert will
feature 5th thru 12th grade Band and Orchestra students from the Edsel Ford Feeder Track
schools. Smith band and orchestra students need to report to the Edsel Ford cafeteria no later
than 6pm. Everyone is welcome to attend the concert!
