1) It’s SMITH SPIRIT WEEK!! Show your School Spirit and dress up on the following days:
: Tues June 5: Twin Day
Wed June 6: Vine Day
Thurs June 7: Crazy Hair/Hat Day
Friday Class Color Day: 8th-Red, 7th-Blue, 6th-Yellow

+++remember you must follow the dress code, keep it appropriate!

2) Locker Clean Out will take place Monday, June 11th during A2. Students are reminded to
take home all clothing items and other items not needed for the last week of school. Also,
look for items you may have misplaced in the lost and found.

3) Yearbooks will be passed out on Tuesday, June 12th during A2.

4) Lost and Found items left at the end of the year with be given to Goodwill. Students
please check the lost and found area for items you are missing.

5) Students: All books borrowed from the Media Center need to be returned by Friday,
June 8th. If you have a book fine, please pay it directly to either Ms. Mattern or Ms. Wilcox
in the Media Center. If you misplaced your library book, please contact the ladies in the
Media Center right away and they will work with you to find a solution.

6) Attention all 8th grade students interested in playing soccer at Edsel Ford next
year: The Thunderbird coaching staff will hold an informational meeting after school
June 6th at 3pm in the Smith Atrium for boys and girls soccer players. It’s important to
attend this meeting if you are interested in playing soccer. Don’t miss out!

7) The 8th Grade Farewell Ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 13th at
Edsel Ford High School in the auditorium at 6pm. Refreshments in the
Cafeteria following the program.

8) High school football coaches from EFHS and DHS will be here on Wednesday, June 6th
from 2:35pn-2:55pm to meet with 8th grade students who wish to play football next fall.
Students going to EF students in the fall will meet in room 78; DHS students will meet in the west gym.

9) Current 7th grade students interested in attending the Washington D.C. trip-2019 may sign
up online by going to worldstrides.com/signup and using the Trip ID 161658 or by calling
800-468-5899.

10) Any 8th graders that are going to Edsel Ford High School next year and are interested
in volleyball, please see Ms. Ball in room 14 to pick up a informational packet!
