Our action day crew couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to get our garden in motion! This garden is part of the D-Shines grant project and is a college-community-schools partnership all aimed at making our Smith Community an even more wonderful place! Volunteers planted fruit trees, constructed garden beds, built a tool shed and even built a classroom area for future hands-on learning! The garden will serve multiple purposes as an ecological site, a place for learning, team-building opportunities and a way for our neighbors to be involved in the great things happening at Smith. A very special thank you to Mr. Baiz, our Garden Champion, who really took command of this amazing project! We can’t wait to see that great things that “GROW” out of this new space!
