B-Day
1) There will be a Student Council meeting on THURSDAY at 7:00 A.M. in room 20.
2) Parents and students are encouraged to attend Parent/Teacher Conferences from 4pm-7pm on Monday, Nov. 12th & Wednesday, Nov. 14th. Report cards for students will be distributed at that time. Visit the Scholastic Book Fair in the Media Center during conferences and get a jump on your holiday shopping.
3) Smith Middle School is happy to be a part of the HYPE annual Thanksgiving Giveaway Can Drive. The can drive will run today through November 14th and each classroom will have a collection box. HYPE will provide a pizza party on Friday, November 16th to the one classroom that collect the most cans in the school.
4) Dr. Elder and the NJHS members are offering free tutoring to students who would like a little extra assistance with homework. Meet in room 53 from 3-3:30pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays. A schedule is posted outside the counseling office. Students must notify their parents ahead of time they are staying after school.
5) Parents interested in volunteering at the Scholastic Book Fair during Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 12th & 14th, please contact our Smith Media Specialist, Ms. Janine Wilcox at wilcoxj@dearbornschools.org or call the main office at 827-2800.
6) Lifetouch picture retake day is today. Students who missed picture day in September will receive a “blue slip” to get their picture taken. Order forms are available in the main office. Any student who would like to have a picture retake, must return the full original package they received.
7) The PTSA is having a friendly competition between A2 classes. The A2 class who turns in the most PTSA membership registrations with membership payments by November 26th will receive some breakfast goodies.
8) Thanksgiving break – Wednesday, Nov. 21st thru Friday, Nov. 23rd – No School.
