Saturday, December 15, 2018, Smith NJHS students joined men and women who serviced their country along with families and students from the metro Detroit area in a truly emotional event at St. Hedwig Cemetery. The ceremony included “taps”, the color guard, ceremonial gun firing, and placing wreaths on the headstones of persons who served in various capacities. After the ceremony, everyone went off to place wreaths on the stones of those who served, a truly touching event! Smith Middle School is proud of our National Junior Honor Society students and thankful for parents who came to the event.
