A-Day
1) Students today is the deadline to turn in your 24 Hour World Tour application.
2) Reminder to those students applying to be WEB Leaders: Applications are due Thursday, April 18th.
3) Beginning this week, current 6th and 7th grade students will complete a Course Request for the 2019-2020 school year on Student Connect.
Students will log into Student Connect and choose the elective courses they would like for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. The deadline for parents/guardians to review their child’s selection and request changes is Friday, April 26th. PLEASE NOTE: The cut off date to make course request changes is 3:00pm on April 26th. NO CHANGE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED AFTER THIS DATE.
4) Nomination forms for the Impact Award are now available in the Main Office. The Impact award recognize non-teaching staff and non-classroom educators (parapros, custodians, kitchen staff, secretaries, bus drivers, etc.) for their outstanding contributions to helping students, enhancing the school environment or providing excellent customer service in other roles. The deadline for nominating is April 18th.
5) The 2019 Dearborn Festival of the Arts City Wide Art Show will be at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center from April 24th thru May 29th.
6) No School – Friday, April 19th – Good Friday
7) The next Late Start date is, Wednesday, April 24th.
8) The Smith Instrumental Spring Concert will be April 30th at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Everyone is invited to attend the concert.
19) The NJHS students are available every Tuesday & Thursday from 2:55-3:30 in room 53 to assist any student who would like help with a math assignment or homework. See Dr. Elder or an NJHS student if you have questions.
10) The 24 Hour World Tour Coming To Smith! A select group of students(20-30) will be in the Media Center from the end of the day on Wednesday 5/22 until the end of school on Thursday 5/23. During this time, they will be skyping with people from all over the globe – from scientists, to students in other countries. This is a fabulous opportunity for our Vikings to participate in a truly unique learning opportunity.
