1) Late Start – Wednesday, April 24th
2) Thursday, April 25th – Track Meet vs Salina @ home – 3:30
3) The deadline for parents/guardians to review their child’s 2019-2020 Elective Course Request selection is Friday, April 26th. PLEASE NOTE: The cut off date to make course request changes is 3:00pm on April 26th. NO CHANGE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED AFTER THIS DATE.
4) It’s finally here! The Annual O.L. Smith Spring Dance is Friday, April 26th in the cafeteria from 3:00-4:30! Tickets are $5.00 each and include a drink and a snack. See any Student Council member during lunch or Mr. Radcliffe in room 20. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will NOT be sold at the door. Tickets will only be on sale this week, today through Wednesday,so get yours while you can!
5) The 2019 Dearborn Festival of the Arts City Wide Art Show will be at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center from April 24th thru May 29th.
6) The Smith Instrumental Spring Concert will be April 30th at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Everyone is invited to attend the concert.
7) The 24 Hour World Tour Coming To Smith! A select group of students (20-30) will be in the Media Center from the end of the day on Wednesday 5/22 until the end of school on Thursday 5/23. During this time, they will be skyping with people from all over the globe – from scientists, to students in other countries. This is a fabulous opportunity for our Vikings to participate in a truly unique learning opportunity.
8) Free Dental Services for Smith students on Wednesday, May 29th Starting at 9:00 am, Wednesday, May 29, 2019, Dentists R Us will be performing some free dental services for students at Smith Middle School. Forms will be distributed to the students the week of May 6th. Parents or guardians need to complete the form, sign it, and send it back to the main office by May 23rd. One student will have a chance to win an Android Tablet if 35 students or more participate in this free program. We encourage all Smith families who do not have dental providers or who have not seen a dentist in the past 6 months to take advantage of this program.
