A-Day

1) NWEA Testing: May 14th-Reading for 7th & 8th, May 16th-Science for 7th & 8th, May 17th-Language Usage for 7th & 8th

2) 6th Grade Comerica Park Math Day Field Trip is Thursday, May 16th

3) Next Late Start Date – Wednesday, May 15th

4) No School – Friday, May 24th and Monday, May 27th: Memorial Day

5) The Athletic Director from Dearborn High School will be in the auditorium speaking with 8th grade DHS bound students on Thursday, May 23rd from 9:25-10:00am regarding playing sports next year.

6) Track pictures will be taken on Tuesday, May 21st starting at 2:50pm for both girls and boys.

7) Track Meet at 3:30 on May 22nd – Smith vs Stout @ Smith

8) Parents, the Smith PTSA needs YOU! Please consider becoming a PTSA Board member for the 2019/2020 school year. Nominations and Elections will be held for ALL POSITIONS (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer), as required by our charter/bylaws, at the next PTSA Meeting to be held May 14 at 6:30pm in the media center.

9) The 24 Hour World Tour Coming To Smith! A select group of students (20-30) will be in the Media Center from the end of the day on Wednesday 5/22 until the end of school on Thursday 5/23. During this time, they will be skyping with people from all over the globe – from scientists, to students in other countries. This is a fabulous opportunity for our Vikings to participate in a truly unique learning opportunity.

10) Free Dental Services for Smith students on Wednesday, May 29th Dentists-R-Us will be providing free dental services for students on May 29th. Completed forms must be returned to the main office by May 23rd. One student will have a chance to win an Android Tablet if 35 students or more participate in this free program. We encourage all Smith families who do not have dental providers or who have not seen a dentist in the past 6 months to take advantage of this program.

11) 8th grade Farewell & Promotion Ceremony will be held at EFHS on Thursday, June 13th in the Auditorium from 6pm-7:30pm.
