Greetings Vikings!
Thanks to all of our amazing teachers and parents who gave up their own time and helped make the 24 Hour World Tour a HUGE SUCCESS! Thanks to all staff who stopped by before and after school as well as on their prep time! Thanks to our amazing custodial staff who ensured that our students and parents had everything they needed to get through the 24 hours. Thanks to our PTSA and all parent volunteers who worked in collaboration with our staff for the benefit of our students!
The kids had an amazing time and learned so much as they virtually traveled across all continents! Watching the partnership between families and school staff was an amazing thing to see throughout the 24 hour period. Viking pride was at an all time high!
A special shout out to the teachers who willingly took this idea and ran from the minute I proposed it and recruited their assistance! Thank you to Mr. Radcliffe, Ms. Mccauslin, Ms. Savage, Dr. Elder, and Ms. Timpf(who literally stayed up for the entire 24 hours! )
We are very fortunate to have an amazing PTSA who facilitated and helped bring this to life. Special shout out to Ms. Makled who planned and initiated this event (and stayed the entire 24 hours) as well as Mr. Schommer, Ms. Jamgochian, Ms. Brown, Ms. Holland, and Ms. Tate who stayed the entire time to help ensure our children were safe and taken care of. Thanks to all other parents who stopped by, volunteered and donated goods! This is what true teamwork looks like. It most certainly takes a village to raise a kid!
I look forward to having this event as an annual tradition at Smith!
Thanks again and I hope you all have a great weekend!
