A message from Henry Ford College to Dearborn Public Schools families

The Office of Student Activities at Henry Ford College would like to invite you, your students, your teachers, your staff, and their families to join us for an Anti-Bullying Awareness event.

  • About 20% of students experience bullying.
  • Over 70% of young people say they have seen bullying in their school.

We have invited Motivational Speaker, Anthony Ianni, to speak with our students and the local community about bullying and to share his story with them.

The Relentless Tour with Anthony Ianni is a Michigan Department of Civil Rights Initiative to eradicate bullying in Michigan and beyond.

Anthony Ianni, was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder, which is on the Autism Spectrum, at age 4. Throughout his childhood, Anthony was bullied by his peers, but he worked hard and never gave up. Anthony earned a Bachelors Degree from Michigan State University in Sociology and is the first known athlete with autism to play Big 10 basketball. He won two Big Ten Championships, a Big Ten Tournament Title, was the recipient of the 2011 Tim Bograkos Walk On Award and the 2012 Unsung Player Award, and was also a member of the 2010 Final Four team.

Come hear Anthony’s inspiring story and learn about how you can help prevent bullying.
