O.L. Smith Middle School

Fall Festival & NO Costumes on Thursday

Thank you to our wonderful PTSA for sponsoring such an outstanding Fall Festival. Families came out and had a great time! Such a great way to celebrate Halloween! Thank you to ALL parents who volunteered – with a special shoutout to Ms. Holland, Ms. Schoolmaster, Ms. Makled, Mr. Niner and Ms. Hicks and all other parents who made this event a huge success by giving up their time to help in varous ways. I would also like to thank DHS and EFHS Key Club, NHS and Link Crew students and their sponsors for volunteering in all the ways they did! They did an amazing job as student leaders and served as great role models to our students.

In an effort to teach our students that there is a time and place for everything, we allowed Halloween costumes to be worn to the Fall Fest, and would like to remind students that Halloween costumes, of any kind, are NOT permitted at O.L.Smith on Halloween Day, Thursday, October 31st.

Students should not bring masks, make-up or hair products to school. Anyone found with these items will have them confiscated.  Gum and candy are not permitted in the building, as usual. Please save your trick-or treating for the evening festivities. This has been and continues to be the rule at O.L. Smith for several years.

Students may wear orange and black but please follow the school dress code, outlined in the student handbook sent home during the summer. We will treat Thursday as a regular school day where LEARNING is our focus and students are expected to fully participate in each class throughout the day.

Thank you for your support and partnership!
