Free student heart health screenings at Fordson H.S. on Dec. 14 for student athletes age 13 to 18


Beaumont Health is offering free student heart health screenings at Fordson High School.  Parents need to preregister for the event which runs on Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is available at beaumont.org/shc.

Students ages 13 to 18 are eligible to attend.

The screenings are meant to help detect young people who are at risk for sudden cardiac arrest.  They include medical history evaluation, blood pressure check, physical examination, electrocardiogram or ECG and echocardiogram quick look.  This type of heart screening is not typically included in the routine physicals required for school sports.
