Here are some ways to access SORA:
1. Dearborn Public Schools website –> Student Portal (last link under “useful links”)
2. Click on the Google “waffle” icon in the top right corner from a Google search page (when logged into the district) and choose the SORA icon near the bottom (looks like a white rocket man on a blue background).
3. Google search “sora” and click on the one that says “soraapp.com“.
Once in SORA, you’ll need to search for your school by typing “dearborn” and choosing “Wayne County School Shared Digital Collection”.
Next, choose “Dearborn Pub School District” from the drop down menu.
We don’t yet have access to the Dearborn Public Library, but if you already have a library card you can click “add library” from the menu at the right and again type in “dearborn” to choose your public library. This will be automated soon where students will not need their own public library card to access those materials.
There is a Black History Month section, and many other areas of interest listed once you log into SORA. There are both print and audio books available to borrow, or place on hold on if a book is already checked out.
You get 2 weeks with each book before it is automatically returned, but you can return books early if you’d like.
