Greeting O.L. Smith Community,
Today, October 20th, it was brought to our attention that a student possibly made a threat toward other students. After investigating the situation, in conjunction with the Dearborn Police and district administrators, we were able to determine that the students at O. L. Smith were not in any danger and the school is safe. We, as a school, in collaboration with district administration and the Dearborn Police Department, will continue our efforts to ensure O.L. Smith is a safe place to learn for all students. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or contact my office.
As posted at the start of the school year on 31 August, below is a reminder that the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office takes all threats very seriously, even if joking in nature. Please review the stance on this issue below.
