O.L. Smith Middle School

Halloween Costume policy at Smith Middle School

Greetings Vikings,

As students prepare for Halloween, we would like to send a reminder that Halloween costumes, of any kind, are NOT permitted at O.L. Smith on Friday, October 29th.

Students should not bring masks, makeup or hair products to school. Anyone found with these items will have them confiscated.  Gum and candy are not permitted in the building, as usual. Please save your trick-or-treating for the evening festivities on Sunday, October 31st.

This has been and continues to be the rule at O.L. Smith for several years.

Students may wear orange and black but please follow the school dress code, outlined in the student handbook sent home during the summer. We will treat Friday as a regular school day where LEARNING is our focus and students are expected to fully participate in each class throughout the day.

Students may show their Halloween Spirit in wearing Orange and Black, or may show their support for Michigan or Michigan State by wearing team colors.

Thank you for your support and partnership in learning.
