Greetings Vikings!

A huge thank you to our PTSA and our Families for showing so much appreciation to our teachers last week! We strive to give our students the best hours of their day every day! Your support is truly appreciated! After a short week last week, we have a lot in store in this, one of the last “full” weeks of the school year!

Your Week Ahead:

Monday 

• Chess Club, 3:30pm room 71

Tuesday 

• Soccer, Unis at Smith, 4pm start
• PTSA Meeting, Media Center, 6:30 pm

Wednesday 

• Late Start: All students arrive 1 hour later.

Thursday 

• Arab and Global Heritage Presentations, in Atrium during all Lunches, 10:40-1:20
• Track, Salina at Smith, 4-7pm
• Incoming 6th Grade Parent Orientation Meeting, in Auditorium, 6pm

Friday 

• Dr. Elder – University of Michigan Dearborn Field Trip, 10am – 2 pm
• Autism Awareness Parade, Notre Dame Street, 1:30pm
• PTSA Donut Krispy Kreme Sale and Order Pickup After School 3:25pm
• Smith Soccer vs. Bryant, 4pm start.

• Thursday May 12th:
  • 10:40am-1:20pm, Atrium, Arab and Global Heritage Presentation Fair during all lunches
  • 6pm, Auditorium, Incoming 6th Grade Parent Orientation
• Friday May 13th, 1:30-1:45, Autism Awareness Parade will be Friday May 13, with a field day for the students of the program afterwards.
  • Please note that the Staff Lot on Notre Dame will be Closed
  •  Notre Dame Street will also be Closed during the parade
• MARK YOUR CALENDARS: End of Year 8th Grade Event Dates:
  • Tuesday, June 7th: Transition Day to Edsel Ford High School. 8th Grade EF Students to Bus to EFHS, the afternoon of the school day.
• Friday, June 10th: PTSA “Surprise” event for 8th Graders only. (if interested in helping with this PTSA president Robbin Makled’s  email is robbin.tenglin@gmail.com
• Thursday, June 16th: 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony at Edsel Ford, evening.

• 6th and 7th Grade Course Registration is Coming!  Dr. Elder will be meeting with students next week to choose electives for the 2022-23 School Year.

• THERE’S STILL TIME, Enrollment CLOSES Saturday MAY14: Summer School Academic and Enrichment Program registration has begun.  It will run Monday – Thursday 9-2:20pm, June 27-July 28.
  • Students that want to register voluntarily, there will be enrichment classes embedded into the program.  THE REGISTRATION FORM IS ATTACHED.  
  • 3 options to register:
    • Print and return to the main office
    • Email Dr. Elder eldern@dearbornschools.org 
    • Or Pick Up a Form in the Main Office
