Greetings Vikings!
Welcome to the last week of the 2021-2022 School Year! What a year it has been; we have grown and learned so much this year. Living our Viking Values of being Virtuous, Innovative, Kind, Intelligent, Noble, Gracious, and Samaritans, we have gotten through a challenging year together, THE VIKING WAY!
This last week we know excitement is high; the expectation remains to continue to make wise choices. Disciplinary infractions that lead to suspension this week will exclude students from the fun at the end; for 8th graders, a suspension this week will prohibit one from taking part in the promotion ceremony. So please, as you finish strong, continue to live out your Viking Values all the way to the finish line.
Last week was packed with excitement, culminating in our incredible 8th grade field day! Thank you for all you did Smith Community to make this happen! A tremendous THANK YOU to the families and businesses who generously donated their time, sweat and resources to the Smith PTSA to make this event a huge success for our students!

Monday 6/13:
- 8th Grade Practice Promotion Ceremony(students only), Auditorium, 8:45am
- Staff Meeting, Media Center, 3:30pm
Wednesday 6/15:
- Yearbooks scheduled to be delivered during A2
- Locker Clean Out, 3:10pm
Thursday 6/16:
- 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony, Edsel Ford Auditorium 6pm. Refreshment Reception in the Cafeteria immediately after.
Friday 6/17:
- Last Day of School. Half Day Students. 11:30 am Dismissal.
Notes:
- 8th Grade Students please continue to make wise choices this last week of the year. Any student that gets suspended this week will not be permitted to participate in the promotion ceremony.
- Look for a Sign Up Genius from the PTSA to volunteer for Sign Delivery for 8th Grade Graduates. Sign Pick-Up will be Tuesday morning, 8:25-9:25 for those volunteering to deliver
- Lost and Found Tables will be out displaying all items left throughout the year. Any unclaimed items after June 17th will be donated to charity.
- Locker Clean Out is Wednesday. Bring everything home. Lockers will not be used after today.
- Thursday and Friday, no backpacks will be permitted.
- June 27th the Summer Program Begins at Stout for grades 6 and 7. Current 8th graders will go to their future high school for the Summer Program.
- Students that are bussed to OL Smith will have their busses take them to OL Smith
- Students that transport themselves to OL Smith will arrive at OL Smith and a bus will take them to Stout.
