Happy Friday Vikings!
We had a wonderful Fall Week of learning. With the leaves and weather changing, we were fortunate to get as many outdoor activities in, before the winter makes its way to us. This week our ASD life skills entrepreneur class gave us a preview taste of what “Popcorn Tuesdays” would be like. I know it was a highlight of the week! We are very excited to welcome our newest Vikings to OL Smith:
Ms. Michelle Rahal is our new office manager and secretary. She has many years of experience with other school systems . We look forward to her experience and cheerful personality to greet us all daily in the main office.
Ms. Lisa DeMarco is our new Social Responsibility Technician. Some of you may be familiar with Ms. DeMarco through working with her in the Dearborn Public Schools for more than a decade. She has made a positive impact in the life of students across Dearborn for many years and many buildings across the district; including OL Smith and most recently the Michael Berry Career Center Campus.
Ms. Nada Abbasi has begun teaching Math to our students and comes with a wealth of experience with her years with another district. Her connected approach builds powerful relationships with students.
Smith Alumni, Coach Alicja Adam, will continue to work with us in an additional capacity as our new Athletic Director. The sportsmanship, teamwork, and hard work that her coaching is built on will undoubtedly be part of her approach to running all athletics at Smith.
