Today Smith leadership students were honored with the presence of a young lady who has lived with several disabilities most of her life.
Roxanne, shared some of her struggles but her story of perseverance was so inspiring that students shared their personal experiences of friends and loved ones who live with a disability. Students vowed to take the pledge to stop using inappropriate language and remember that persons with disability should not be excluded from opportunities and most of all it was a reminder to be kind and empathetic to people because we do know their life story. Roxy was so excited today as she became an official Viking and received a Viking T shirt! Roxy’s greatest advocates, her parents also attended.
Thank you Riggio family for sharing your story with us.
