Here we are! After you, the parents and Viking PTSA put on a fabulous Friday Field Day for our 8th grade students, we are in the last week!
It seems not long ago at all, we were taking those first day of school pictures and picking up schedules! What an amazing year it has been! Your students have spent over 900 hours this year growing academically and socially; and we are so proud of the tremendous growth we have gained together. In this final week, we will be winding things down as the finally grades get completed and the last projects turned in.
Students will clear out their lockers on Tuesday, so be prepared for items to come home. Wednesday and Thursday, we will have students bring the few items they need from class to class. No Backpacks will be used the final two days (Wednesday and Thursday).
As a final reminder, let’s end the year safely! Please remember when walking and biking home to use sidewalks and cross at crosswalks. Traffic is busy at the start and end of the day, and many parked cars make it difficult for cars to see students when they cross in the middle of a street. Please remind our students, cross safely!

Monday 6/12:
- 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony Practice (students only), 1st Period, 8:44-9:41
Tuesday 6/13:
- WEB Leader Training (7th grade candidates)
- Locker Clean Out, end of all day, all items brought home
- PTSA Meeting, 6:30pm Media Center
Wednesday 6/14:
- No Backpacks. Lockers will be for phones only. All other items will be carried class to class.
- 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony, Edsel Ford High School Auditorium 6pm;
- all 8th Graders Participating, arrive at 5:30 in the Edsel Ford Cafeteria for Group Line Up
Thursday 6/15:
- No Backpacks
- Last Day of School- Half Day, Dismissal at 11:30 am
Friday 6/16:
- Have a Great Summer! Final Grades will be viewable the following week on Friday, June 23rd in Parent Connect; in addition to being mailed home.
