National Jr Honor Society Application Is Now Open for 7th & 8th Graders
| NJHS is a national organization dedicated to Community Service. Membership is based on: citizenship, leadership, service & character. Students can apply online or pick up a paper application from the counseling office. To be eligible a student must: -Perform 1 hour of community service prior to submitting the application. -Complete at least 1 semester of middle school & be a 7th or 8th grader -Have a 3.0 GPA or better and be in good standing (DPS’s PBIS/Core Values expectations). Our Special Students are encouraged to apply (ie: Special Ed, English Language. -Commit to performing at least 5 hours of community service monthly & submit monthly service logs (in school or out of school). Some of the hours will be performed through school activities. -Attend student driven meetings (attempts are made to accommodate students’ after school activities). 2023 Application – Follow each Step. The deadline is: October 19, 2023 Application Sept 2023 (The application should be accessed through students’ school account) Verification of Community Service (in the application form) NJHS Constitution & Bylaws (open and review the link) Recommendation (2 are needed).
