B-Day
Friendly Reminder To Students:
Sliders/Slippers/flip-flops are not to be worn to school. All sandals must have a back strap. Shorts must be fingertip length when arms are resting by your side. Spaghetti straps/strapless tops and sleeveless undershirts are not permitted. Students will be required to call home for a change of clothing for a dress code violation.
1) Play Day for the new WEB Leaders will be Thursday, June 6th, during 5th & 6th hour. WEB Leaders will meet in the atrium for an afternoon of fun.
2) The OL Smith PTSA invites you to the final family skating event of the year tonight, June 6th from 6-8pm at the Lincoln Park Skating Center.
We will welcome our new 2019-2020 6th grade class and say goodbye to our current 8th grade class! Admission is free – just pay the $2 skate rental fee if you don’t have your own skates to bring. PLEASE NOTE: IF PARENTS ARE DROPPING OFF CHILDREN, THEY MUST BE PICKED UP NO LATER THAN 7:30PM.
3) The Smith Field Day will be held in the afternoon Friday, June 7th to celebrate all of the great things students have accomplished during the
school year. Student’s will report directly to their first hour class on Friday-Do not report to your A2, however students MUST report to their A2 classroom at 2:35 following the Field Day event.
4) Locker clean out will be Monday, June 10th during A2. Students report to A2 for attendance as usual, then clean out your locker thoroughly.
Please remember to take home all your belongings at the end of the day on Monday, June 10th from your locker and check the lost and found area for items you are missing.
5) Backpacks will not be permitted Thursday, June 13th or Friday, June 14th. On Friday, June 14th students will open their lockers during A2 for teacher inspection. Lockers are to remain open for the day Friday, June 14th.
6) Practice for the 8th Grade Farewell & Promotion Ceremony will take place on Monday, June 10th at 8:30am in the auditorium.
7) Cultural Food Days will be the following days in Ms. J’s room:
Thursday, June 6th: 6th Hour
Friday, June 7th: 1st Hour (A Day)
Monday, June 10th: 4th Hour
Wednesday, June 12th: 1st Hour (B Day) & 5th Hour
Thursday, June 13th: 3rd Hour
8) Attention all 8th grade hockey players: Head Coach Dallas of the Dearborn Unified H.S. hockey team is holding a level camp starting June 10th for all students who will be in the 9th thru 12th grades next year at either Dearborn High or Edsel Ford HS. All interested hockey players should contact Coach Dallas at dallasb@dearbornschools.org for further information.
9) 6th Grade end of the year field trip to The Adventure Park in West Bloomfield will be June 11th and June 13th.
