Thank you to all who helped make March 10th Primary a safe and successful day of learning!
I would like to give a huge shout out and extend my gratitude to the families, staff, Dearborn Police Department, and district administrators who helped our school and others have a safe and successful day of learning. I appreciate the support from the start of the day with the indoor line up and throughout the day. Support staff, volunteers, and I were able to monitor entrance and help to direct everyone to the voting area. For students, it was “business as usual” and classes continued without interruption. For teachers, it was a day of teaching and being present throughout the building when not in direct contact with students – to ensure student safety.
Dr. Chochol, our Executive Director, visited the school today and helped to monitor the voting entrance during the voting that took place at near the start time of school. Mr. Mashhour, Director of Student services, visited during the second half of the day and helped monitor the voting entrance during lunch time. Officer Leto helped supervise and monitor our building during transition times. Ms. Asya and Ms. Fathiya also helped to assist in the voting area all day long – welcoming voters to Smith and directing them to the voting area. The Smith Community and I appreciate the support that our students received to help make the learning continue to go smoothly throughout the day as voting was taking place in the atrium.
Thank you to everyone who helped make it another safe and successful day of learning at Smith!
