Mardi Gras Feb. 16 – pick up dinner, online event

Dearborn Education Foundation’s Mardi Gras will return on Feb. 16, but this year without the big traditional gathering.  Meals prepared by Chef Danny, a Fordson graduate, will be cooked in authentic New Orleans style and can be picked up from 2 to 6 p.m. that day at Dearborn High or Fordson.  People can also opt to buy a meal to donate to a first responder.  

A live event will follow at 7 p.m. including a behind the scenes tour of the New Orleans parade company and the parade floats, Zee the Cook and two students teaching how to make beignets, and the doubloon contest.   You need not be “present” to win this year’s contest.
