I would like to offer an opportunity for students grade 5-8 to Audition for our Production of Disney’s “Descendants”. We plan to add a youth ensemble to add to our cast as students of Auradon High and of denizens of the Isle of the Lost. They will need to sing and dance (hip-hop and modern dance especially welcome). Have them please prepare the opening section of “Be Our Guest”. You may use the demo track from the Audrey Snyder arrangement as a guide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnTit8kOa7g Prepare from 3:45-4:30. They will be taught a dance combination, so please ask them to dress comfortably to move.
Auditions will be held in the EFHS Choir Room on Tuesday 15 March at 4:30 pm. This will be directly prior to the 9th Grade Orientation held for current 8th graders. I would LOVE to have 8th grader from Stout, Smith, Woodworth, and Salina come and get involved even before they are students at Edsel. Involvement fosters SO many benefits for students, and this is a great way for them to become a part of our Performing Arts family, PLUS we get to have fun with our favorite Disney characters!!
I have not solidified our rehearsal schedule, but I know that during the first few weeks, I will need them on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Start time will depend on how many Elementary students are involved. We will give time for students to get here from their schools. I will be able to give a complete schedule once I see how much interest and skill levels. This is a shortened musical, and it moves quickly. Stage time is NOT the usual amount of a standard musical, so I am hoping to keep rehearsals short and use everyone’s time productively. They can plan on longer rehearsals as we come closer to the production on April 28, 29, and 30th.
