Good evening everyone,
We hope you have all had a Happy Thanksgiving and are enjoying your holiday break. The PTA Council is planning to host to vigil commemorating 1-year since the tragic Oxford shooting, on November 30th, 2022 at the Dearborn Administrative Building (Ten Eyck). We recognize as the Dearborn community we must continue to show our support to our fellow neighbors and students who have suffered one of the greatest tragedies any school in our area has ever faced. One year later their wounds have not healed.
This vigil will be held at 5:30 pm inside the admin building in the boardroom. It will also probably only last 30-45 minutes depending on our speakers. We encourage all PTA units to share the flyer attached to this email with their school community. If you are at the middle school or high school level, it is highly encouraged to bring your students to this event. We will have a card for everyone to sign and will be mailed to Oxford High School. Unfortunately, school shootings have continued to plague our society, and threats to this day continue to riddle our schools. The motto “students first” absolutely includes student safety. We are one community united to ensure this is always true.
