Dear Vikings,
Some of you may have heard recently that our own gym teacher and athletic director, Ms. Erin Sisty was diagnosed with cancer. She is undergoing surgery and will be taking medical leave to heal and undergo other treatments. Ms. Sisty has been very open in communicating with all her students and many chose to wear pink to support her before she went on leave.
Because we are all one Viking family, the PTSA and Student Council are banding together to help support Ms. Sisty by raising some funds to make life a little easier for her and her family in some small way during her fight. To that end, we are selling pink Viking “Sisty Strong” T-shirts on our square site and at the Student Council movie night on Thursday December 15th. The T-shirts are pink with a navy blue Viking on them. The t-shirts will be $16 on-line (we added $1 to the price to cover credit card fees), or $15 in person at movie night. T-shirts purchased online may be picked up at the movie night on Friday, or will be sent home with students next week. We will ask all students who purchased a shirt to wear them on a specified day so that we can take a group photo to send Ms. Sisty. All profits from the shirts will be provided to Ms. Sisty to use for living expenses, meals, etc. as she recovers- basically to try to lighten her load in some small way, so she can focus on recover and her family. Additional donations will also be accepted on the square site or at movie night.
We have limited quantities of shirts, so purchase as soon as you can, and let’s show Ms. Sisty how much we support her!
