The Viking Week Ahead 3/13 – 3/17/2023

Greetings Vikings,

It appears we are falling into a bit of a pattern here, with Friday snow days. With the Springing forward, we can see that Spring truly is around the corner, and hopefully no more snow!

It was a great week to learn, with the highlight definitely being welcoming our incoming 5th Graders! Our students came in as Bandits, Roadrunners, Eagles, Penguins, and Rockets, but they are Vikings now!

We have a full week ahead, with two great opportunities for direct parent involvement:

3/13-3/17

Wednesday 3/15

• PARENT TEACHER SPRING CONFERENCES 4:15-7:15 NOTE THIS IS A CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL DISTRICT CALENDAR
  • Detention and Community Service Cancelled for today.

Thursday 3/16

• Student Council Room 20, 7:15am
• Jazz Band 3:30-4:00
• Tutoring 3:30-5:00
• Girls Basketball, Unis at Smith, 3:45pm

Friday 3/17

• HALF DAY STUDENTS, 11:30 dismissal – Staff PD pm
• Chess Tournament, Lowrey at Smith 3:45pm
• Boys Swim, Lowrey at Smith 3:45pm
• Girls Basketball – Playoffs Round 1 – TBD

• Incoming Freshman Player/Parent Meeting for Dearborn High Football on Tuesday, March 14th at 6:30 PM in the DHS Gymnasium
• SPRING CONFERENCES Wednesday March 15th, 4:15-7:15 NOTE THIS IS A CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL DISTRICT CALENDAR.  Originally this conference night for Spring was scheduled for April 13th.
• March 17th – Half Day, AM Students, PM PD-Teachers
• PSAT 8: Wednesday April 4/12/2023
• 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony: Evening of June 14th, at Edsel Ford High School
• 8th Graders, as a follow up to the email you received prior this week, If you are interested in presenting a speech, poem, or song at promotion please submit this form: Promotion Presentation Form 2023
  •  Submissions are due no later than April 2nd, 2023.  Those who make it to the audition round will be presenting to the administration panel for approval.
