Greetings Vikings!
Some important notes about entry to OL Smith:
- Doors open at 8:15am and grab and go breakfast is free for all!
- Students Should arrive NO EARLIER than 8am. Supervision is not adequate before this time. Please dress for the weather if waiting outdoors, as access to the building is not available until then.
- ENTRY/ VISITOR POLICY:
- Safety and security for our students is our number one priority, which is why there have been updates to visitors to the building:
- All visitors come in through the main entrance on Yale and sign in and present photo Identification.
- If dropping something off for your child, we will save you the time of having you come into the building. The new procedure will be:
- to push the call button and alert the secretary that you are dropping off.
- Drop off the item in our container near the call button.
- The secretary will come out and retrieve the item.
- Visitors requesting a meeting or visit will need to set up appointments.313.827.2800.

Friday 8/30:
- NO FOOTBALL PRACTICE TODAY.
- NO SCHOOL – Vacation Day. Building closed.

Monday 9/2:
- NO SCHOOL LABOR DAY – BUILDING CLOSED ALL DAY
Tuesday 9/3:
- EARLY RELEASE – FIRST ONE OF THE YEAR – STUDENTS RELEASED AT 1:50 PM
- Welcome Back! Remember Doors open at 8:15 for Breakfast. First Bell Rings at 8:25
- District Test Out Deadline is TODAY
Wednesday 9/4:
- Picture Day! Student Photos will be taken during Social Studies Period. Make Ups will be November 7th.
Thursday 9/5:
- Administration Grade Level Expectations Student Assemblies: Teachers, take attendance and escort your class to the auditorium.
- 8th Grade – 2nd Period
- 7th Grade- 3rd Period
- 6th Grade- 5th Period
Friday 9/6:
- Viking Voucher Pull, 3:15pm
