Greetings, Viking Parents!
I am reaching out to you to let you know about an opportunity that your child will have as a student at O.L. Smith Middle School during their 8th grade year..
Every spring, the 8th grade students have the opportunity to go on a field trip to Washington D.C. This is a fun, educational trip that will enhance your students’ knowledge of U.S. History and I hope that your child will be able to attend. Even though this trip is two years away for your child, I would suggest that you consider starting to plan for it now. The current cost of the trip is about $1200.00 and we can expect that the price will increase each year. If you start putting aside a little bit each month now, you will avoid getting hit with sticker shock in a couple of years.
We will have informational meetings starting in the spring of next year where I will be able to share more specific information regarding the trip and we will have an exact price at that time.
