Greeting O.L.Smith Community,
It is with a very heavy heart I share with you sad news about a member of our O.L. Smith family.
Today, long time secretary, Ms. Carole Smith passed away. She was found by a friend at her home. At this time we have no further information or details but it appears the death was a result of natural causes.
This sad news has been shared with all of our staff and students here at Smith. We also had a district team of Social Workers in our school in case any staff or students needed to share their feelings or thoughts. This same team of people will be at the school when we return on Monday.
As I write this letter we do not have any details on funeral arrangements. With school being on recess for the next three days I would suggest checking local newspapers for details.
In the short time I knew Carole I was able to know her as person who was respected and liked by many. Her presence at Smith will be missed by students, staff and parents. Our deepest condolences are with Carole’s family and I would ask everyone in our Smith family to please put Carole’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
