Dear Dearborn Public Schools Families,
For your awareness, this coming Wednesday, October 4, 2017, is a Student Count Day for public schools across Michigan, including Dearborn Public Schools.
It is important for our students to be in school every day, actively participating in the learning process. Attendance on Student Count Day is particularly helpful, as Count Days determine the amount of per-student funding the state will provide the school district for the upcoming school year.
Attendance on count day significantly reduces the paperwork/follow up required for each individual absence. Wednesday is the first of two count days that take place during each school year, with the second taking place in February.
We encourage families to make every effort – barring student illness or a family emergency – to have their students at school for Student Count Day, tomorrow, Wednesday, October 4th.
Thank you, as always, for being a part of what makes our schools strong!
Sincerely,
Ms. Zeina Jebril, Ed.S.
Principal
