Greetings Parents,
Beginning December 5th, students who earned a Failing Grade (E) in any core subject need to attend the Smith Extended Day Program. The Program runs Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3:05-4:05 pm. Students required to attend will receive a Blue slip that must be signed and returned. Students will receive the slip this week. Please make sure to ask your student for this form if they failed any class.
The program is an effort to support failing students by completing missing assignments, providing homework support, and study skills for upcoming class exams. This program also aims to reduce the number of students who are at risk for attending the costly mandatory summer school program, as well as prevent possible retention
If your student did not fail any classes, but would like to take advantage of tutoring. Please email Ms. Hammoud at hammoue@dearbornschools.org.
