B-Day

Lunch: Friday – Pizza

1) A DCMST representative and current DCMST students visiting Smith onTODAY,
December 1st at 8:30am to speak with 8th grade students who are currently enrolled in
the Algebra 1 and are interested in registering for the DCMST program next school year.

2) Next week is the Hour of Code! A worldwide learning computer programming event will take
place on Tuesday, December 5th after school from 3:15-4:15. Students please let your A2
teacher know if you are interested in participating in learning computer programming.
Location of this event is the Media Center.

3) ***NOTE CHANGE TO INFO***Attention 8th grade students: A representative from the
Early College will be here Friday, December 15 to meet with students who are interested in the
Health and Pre-Engineering Programs. Please let your A2 teacher know you are interested.
See Dr. Elder for more information.

4) ***NOTE CHANGE TO DATES***The district has chosen O.L. Smith students to receive
an ASD Awareness presentation on the following Fridays: January 12th – 7th grade,
December 8th – 8th grade and December 15th – 6th grade. The presenter will come to your
math class for the presentation.

5) ***NOTE CHANGE TO DATE***The Smith wear order form is available for staff & students who
are interested in purchasing a shirt, hoodie or other items. Students may get an order form
from their A2 teacher or from the main office. Please return your order form and money in
a sealed envelope to your A2 teacher or to the main office Friday, December 1, to support
the PTSA. Show your Viking pride!

6) O.L. Smith STAND is sponsoring a Holiday Drive to collect toiletries for the
Detroit Rescue Mission. To donate, please see the list of requested items posted in
Mrs. Rivait’s room and place them in her drop basket. Collection is from 11/27-12/21.
For additional information, please see Mrs. Rivait.

7) The Student Council & STAND students would like your help in creating the “Sock It To ‘Em”
holiday “sock” tree. New and very gently used pairs of socks of all sizes, for boys and girls,
men and woman, can be dropped in the basket in the counseling office by Mrs. Rivait’s
Desk. Collection is from 11/27 – 12/21. For additional information please see Mrs. Rivait.
