1) It’s time for students to nominate their favorite O.L. Smith teacher for the 2018
Alberta Muirhead Teacher of the Year Students’ Choice Award. The deadline for submitting
applications is Friday, March 16, 2018 at 5:00 pm. Printed nomination forms can be picked up in the main office, or an online nomination form can be found on the District’s website
(www.dearbornschools.org) or directly at: https://goo.gl/nuCtnN if you prefer.

2) Mandatory Meeting for Instrumental Parents @ 6pm on Wed. February 28th This will
be an informational meeting regarding events for band/orchestra students.
3) February 27th – 3:30 Girls basketball vs Stout @ Stout
February 28th – 3:30 Boys swimming vs Salina @ Smith
March 1st – Girls basketball vs Woodworth @ Smith
March 6th – Girls basketball vs Bryant @ Smith
March 7th – Boys swimming vs Lowrey @ Smith
March 8th – Girls basketball vs Salina @ Salina
4) Representatives from Edsel Ford H.S. will be speaking to 8th grade students in the auditorium
on March 20th at 8:30am to discuss scheduling and other opportunities. The Dearborn H.S.
Scheduling visit will be on March 26th at 1pm in the auditorium.
5) The Edsel Ford H.S. Spring Freshmen Orientation for students and their families will be held
on March 28th at 6pm in the auditorium. Parent Night at Dearborn H.S. for Freshmen will
be March 28th at 6pm in the auditorium.
6) Smith Spirit Skating Party today, February 27th from 6pm-8pm at the Lincoln Park Skating
Center is sponsored by the PTSA. Tickets are available at the door for only $8 and include your
skate rental!! Wear your Smith Gear and only pay $7!! Students can purchase the new
Smith Pop Sockets at the skate party for only $6 each or buy 2 for $10.
