B-Day
1) The Holiday Fundraiser to support 6th, 7th and 8th grades has begun. Forms to order
your holiday wreath are available in the Main Office. All orders must be returned by
Monday, October 29th. Checks can be made payable to O.L. Smith PTSA.
2) Join the 8th Grade students-Smith Class of 2019 at Panera “On The Hill”
Thursday, October 18th from 4pm-8pm for a fundraiser to support class events.
Flyers are available in the main office and must be presented to the cashier for the class
to receive a donation from the sales. You may also use an electronic version of the flyer.
3) Students interested in joining the new Art Club may pick up a permission
slip from the main office or see Mr. Kade. Art Club will be on Wednesdays
from 3:05-4pm in room 80 on the following dates: 10/31, 11/7, 11/14, 11/28,
12/5 and 12/12. Students will need to supply some personal art supplies
from home, however some supplies will be provided for them. Students will
also need to have their own transportation home when club dismisses.
4) Today is our last home volleyball game of the season against Woodworth
and we are having a PINK OUT! Come cheer on your Vikings and don’t
forget to wear your PINK! Good luck to our Viking team!!
5) Boys basketball tryouts will be held October 30th, 31st and November 1st from
3pm-4:30pm. See Mr. Petrusha in room 10 for more information.
6) Looks like the 7th grade is taking the lead in the Penny Wars!! The class buckets are
getting full! Who will win the pizza party?? Donations to the collection buckets for each
grade are located in the main office. The grade with the most pennies at the end of

7) Edsel Ford H.S. invites all Smith students to attend the annual Halloween
Haunted Theater for a spooktacular evening October 26th, 29th & 30th from
7pm-9pm. Admission to the Halloween Haunted Theater is $5 at the door.
8) NJHS Acceptance letters will be delivered by this week. The Induction
Ceremony will be Thursday, October 25th at 6:00pm.
