Parent/Teacher Conferences Today & Wednesday- 4pm-7pm
Report Cards Distributed At That Time!
1) Thank you to all who participated in Penny Wars! It was close, but we are happy to announce that the 7th grade won with $3.96! 8th grade was runner up with -$0.86 and the 6th grade came in 3rd with -$16.95. Class funds raised are:
6th grade $192.35
7th grade $177.42
8th grade $54.98.
7th grade pizza party will be Friday, Nov. 30th during Flex Time. A special thank you to Ms. Liz Courtesis for organizing!
2) Parents and students are encouraged to attend Parent/Teacher Conferences from 4pm-7pm on Monday, Nov. 12th & Wednesday, Nov. 14th. Report cards for students will be distributed at that time. Visit the Scholastic Book Fair in the Media Center during conferences and get a jump on your holiday shopping.
3) Attention Smith family Veterans! O.L. Smith Middle School is celebrating Veterans Day today, during parent-teacher conferences from 4-7pm. You are cordially invited to stop by the cafeteria to be greeted and thanked by our NJHS members.
4) PTSA Meeting – Tuesday, November 13th at 6:30 in the Media Center. Everyone welcome to attend.
5) Please join us Monday, November 19th from 4 – 6pm at Park Place Banquet Center in Dearborn for the 27th annual Empty Bowls Dinner. Enjoy a meal of soup and bread to help fight hunger. For a donation of $5 you get a custom designed ceramic bowl made by OL Smith Art students, an unlimited soup buffet bar, and homemade bread from Harvest Bread Company. There is also a silent auction with a chance to win many great prizes. All proceeds go to our local community through Gleaners Food Bank, and Blessings in a Back Pack. 6) Smith Middle School is happy to be a part of the HYPE annual Thanksgiving Giveaway Can Drive. The can drive will run today through November 14th and each classroom will have a collection box. HYPE will provide a pizza party on Friday, November 16th to the one classroom that collect the most cans in the school. See Mr. Baiz for additional info.
6) The PTSA is having a friendly competition between A2 classes. The A2 class who turns in the most PTSA membership registrations with membership payments by Nov. 26th will receive some breakfast goodies.
7) Thanksgiving Break – Wednesday, Nov. 21st thru Friday, Nov. 23rd.
